Farm to Table Through the Year

Today I am so excited to finally share the newest ebook brought to you by the Backyard Farming Connection!

This book is a culinary and gardening journey through the 12 months of the year with growing tips, first hand growing information, recipes, and photos to inspire you in your own backyard and in your kitchen this year.

Each of the 12 chapters is crafted by a different author and shares first hand information.  Read about growing pumpkins, building cold frames, and cooking with Guinea Eggs.

Growing your own food not only brings fresh flavors to the table, but it also deepens your connection to the process of preparing meals. When we began gardening with a focus on taste, we shifted from trying to grow the biggest produce to seeking out unique heirloom varieties, like the flavorful “Cherokee Purple” tomato. The joy of the farm-to-table movement goes beyond just ingredients; it’s about the care and attention that homegrown produce inspires. This book follows the journey of growing and cooking through the seasons, with each chapter offering tips and recipes tied to the rhythms of the garden, and invites you to rediscover the joy of seasonal cooking.

  1. I have downloaded it, and going to read it. Uhhu..you live in upstate NY, one of my favorite place. I live in northern NJ. I am also trying to become self sufficient by growing food on my small plot. One of my dream is to have those big tracts of land with forests and farms in upstate NY, and create my own piece of heaven on earth – farm, forest, animals, ponds. Any idea about how to go about looking for them? Thanks.

  2. Thank you so much for sharing these ebooks. I am learning so much from reading them (and your blog). I love your blog and feel so inspired every time I visit. I have also added you to my list of great blogs. It is actually a page for great 'midlife bloggers' but I have added a little section at the bottom for non-midlife blogs that I really love! You are on it now 🙂 See it here: http://hmmmholly.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html

  3. So glad to see this! I love finding sites like yours and found you through The Real Farmchicks. Sharing an ebook like this is a real blessing to those of us who read it. It take work, time and dedication to make it happen. Thank you for that.

  4. Dear Gretchen, Congratulations on a fine collaboration and finished product! I've featured your eBook on my blog for Tasty Tuesday this week!
Just had to share it! Well done… 🙂
