Backyard Farming Connection Substack Guest Post Guidelines

Bio: Please provide a bio with any links you would like me to use back to your relevant work (substack, blogs, social channels, etc)

Word count: between 600 and 1200 words is preferred – but I can be flexible

Photos: between 3 and 8 are generally best.  Use these photos to help illustrate your point or tell the story of your homestead and journey.  I prefer landscape photos.

Topic: I am looking for guest posts that are either about a specific agreed upon topic or a homestead highlight where you share your homestead journey and a little about your current homestead.  This is a series I ran many years ago and am reviving it on my Substack (See an Example from the series I did many years ago)

Format: Please break your article up into several sections and if you want the photos in a specific spot, please specify.

How to Share:

  • Substack doesn’t let writers have access other people’s drafts yet, so the best method is to list you as a guest writer on the publication. You will have to accept the invitation through an email you will receive from Substack.
  • Then you will need to share your article with me (the easiest way is to share a google doc with me).
  • Photos can be shared via Google drive.
  • Before planning the publication I will send you a test version of it and make sure you are okay with everything.

Interesting guest posting? DM me on Substack or send me an email – [email protected].
